Described as Germany’s trendsetter and tastemaker, Steve
Bug’s DJ
career commenced in 1991 … and he has not looked back since.
Who is a dedicated, mover, shaker and tastemaker who is energetic and
an electronic music ambassador? Germany’s Steve Bug fits the bill
nicely.
The German DJ and producer is also a family man. Well, the acclaimed
German spinner is head honcho of a family of record labels that
releases deep house, minimal and tech house. His family runs deep –
split into three labels with his regarded Poker Flat label focusing on
tech, Dessous Recordings going for house material and Audiomatique
aiming for new talent.
Think of Bug and his classic assemblage Da Minimal Funk
no doubt
springs to mind. Or it could be his seminal Loverboy, which introduced
audiences to a darker and minimal yet undeniable funky production.
Moreover, his debut album, The Other Day, released via Poker Face,
rightly stands as the benchmark of futuristic musical fusion.
So it’s little wonder why Bug is heralded as a wickedly
talented
artist who is diverse and dishes up electronic music variety in
buckets loads. Yep – the German DJ’s sets normally include a bit of
anything and everything that his record labels release.
Bug’s churned out countless productions, remixes and
off-the-cuff
studio sessions, including his essential Bugnology mix series (now in
its third instalment), his Collaboratory album, mixes for Fabric and
Fuse as well as his exclusive digital album, Time Flies -The Best of
Steve Bug 1998-2008.
That Bug has roused support for his versatility and trademark
range
speak volumes – it’s why he has endured himself to punters all over
the globe. Seeing Bug live is a site to behold. Known for
using and
integrating Final Scratch technology, his impending visit to Australia
should send most dance lovers running to purchase a ticket
immediately, particularly as he is a hard man to grasp these days.
Such is the demand for his silky skills he’s visited Japan, Europe and
South America over the past few years.
Bugged out? Get in quick and he’s not in town for long.
