Crystal chandeliers, flock wallpaper and leather Chesterfield couches combine to create one of the most opulent bars and event spaces in the CBD.
When Governor Macquarie named King Street & Kent Street after King George III and his son The Duke of Kent, little did he know that this would inspire the minds of the new City Hotel team as they took on the 100 year old site.
Part 1 of the development phase is now complete, with the launch of the aptly named Kent Street Living Room, an inspired nod towards The Duke of Kent and his long-reigning and highly commemorated daughter Queen Victoria. The 1st floor room combines crystal chandeliers, flock wallpaper and chesterfield leather couches with Tom Dixon lights, a cracking cocktail list (by Barman Of The Year, Jeremy Shipley) and new sound & DJ equipment. The Kent Street Living Room is a purveyor of good times.
The Saloon Bar on the street level takes on a darker, more edgier feel. Dark wood, antique brass and damask wallpaper surround a heritage fireplace. It's part gastro-pub and part tarted-up boozer with new head-chef Elaine Lee (formerly of The Westin) creating lunch love Monday – Friday.
